Scaling hazard of water side heat exchange tube

Scaling on the water side heat exchange tube is a problem that is easily ignored during the use of bromine cooler.

After scaling, the thermal resistance of the heat exchange tube will increase significantly. At this time, the fluid is not easy to transfer the cooling capacity (or heat) to the working fluid side of the exchange under the condition that the flow rate is constant, resulting in the obvious deterioration of the heat exchange efficiency.

The experiment shows that when the fouling coefficient of the heat exchange tube at the cooling water side is 0.4m ²· At K/kw - that is, when there is about 0.6mm thick dirt in the pipe wall, the cooling capacity of the unit will drop to about 70%, and the cold water outlet temperature will rise by about 2 ℃, and the heat source consumption will increase by about 23% (copper tube experimental data). However, the thermal conductivity of scale is only 2%~5% of that of ordinary steel.

The above data show that the existence of scale will seriously reduce the actual refrigeration capacity and energy efficiency ratio of the bromine refrigerator.

Scaling hazard

When the scale of the heat exchange tube reaches a certain level, it will also harm the operation stability of the unit - it will cause a series of problems such as abnormal temperature and concentration of the dilute solution outlet, solution crystallization, abnormal temperature and pressure of the generator and condenser, and so on.

Due to the water quality and external material exchange, the heat exchange tubes at the chilled water and cooling water sides of the bromine cooler are most likely to form dirt. Rust scale is easy to form on the chilled water side, and the expansion joint of the tubesheet is easy to cause pitting effect. If it is not treated in time, it will have the potential of corrosion leakage. In addition, the copper pipe at the chilled water side must keep the water flowing smoothly. When the rust scale and sundries are seriously blocked, once the flow of some copper pipes is cut off, it will lead to serious accidents of frozen pipes.

However, the water quality at the cooling water side is generally far worse than that of the chilled water. The salt content in the water is higher and the temperature is higher, and it is easy to form crystallization dirt such as carbonate and silicate. In addition, there are more impurities in the water, which is easy to form sediment dirt on the surface of the heat exchange tube, and even foreign matters directly block the copper tube.

According to the nature and degree of scaling, physical cleaning and chemical cleaning are generally used for routine maintenance of the unit. It is recommended to check the scaling of the water chamber of the unit and select the corresponding cleaning method 1-2 months before starting each year to ensure the stable operation, energy saving and consumption reduction of the unit throughout the year.
